Defrancesco+Silva is an award winning architecture studio founded by Paola De Francesco and Joao Silva in 2004 in milan. Our projects travel from product design to interiors, retail & architecture.
Creative Approach.
In 2017 we won the director's choice award of the international competition LHOM "Last House On Mulholland" by Archoutloud, among more than 500 participants from all around the world. In the year before Joao Silva co-authored the "NYC Aquarium and Public Waterfront" international competition winning project.
Two of our designs are presented in the Vienna's M.A.K. Museum collection, the P1 Armchair (2008) and the Mak Table (2009). Our work have been displayed in several exhibitions around the world: from Milan, Lisbon, Paris, Stockholm, Cologne, Vienna, Dubai to Istanbul, and displayed in italian and international magazines and Books.
Paola De Francesco
Born in Milan she graduated in architecture in 1994 at the Politecnico di Milano. In the year of 1996 she started her collaboration with G14 studio and in 1997 she meet Aldo Cibic and joined Cibic&Partners. In 2000 she graduated in art history as a teacher. She keeps on her activity of designer and co-founder architect of Defrancesco+Silva studio in 2004.
Joao Silva
Born in Faro, Portugal he graduated in design in 1996 at the Universidade do Algarve and in architecture in 2000 at universidade Lusòfona de lisboa, completing his studies at the politecnico di milano.After collaborating with Aldo Cibic and Piero Lissoni he keeps on his activity of designer and co-founder architect of Defrancesco+Silva studio in 2004
